ONDA
ONDA uses microwave energy and is typically sold as a course by body or face area, not by shot.
How it works
ONDA, made by DEKA, delivers 2.45 GHz microwave energy under the trade name Coolwaves. Microwaves heat water-containing tissue, and the handpiece applies them while cooling the surface, with the aim of warming the fatty and connective layers below the skin. It is used for body contouring and, with different applicators, for skin firmness. Changes build gradually across a series, and the extent varies widely between people.
Good to know
- Applicators differ for body and face, so the area determines which hardware is used and how long the session lasts.
- Courses are commonly planned as several sessions spaced weeks apart.
- Because it targets body areas, quotes often list zones such as abdomen, flanks or thighs, each with its own session count.
- The unit is time and area, so asking for minutes per zone gives a more useful comparison than asking for a total.
How ONDA affects a treatment quote
For ONDA the quote is built from zones and sessions. A flank zone, an abdominal zone and an inner-thigh zone each carry their own plan, and a total can combine them without saying how. Ask for the list of zones and the number of sessions for each.
Then ask how long a session lasts and how far apart the visits are, because both change what you are committing to. Courses paid in advance deserve a question about what happens if you stop part-way. Compare ONDA to another body-contouring quote only after converting both into a price per zone per session. Numbing is rarely central here, but tax and any measuring or photo visits may be itemized separately.
ONDA: common questions
Why do ONDA quotes list body zones?
Each zone is a separate treatment area with its own session plan. The total is the sum of the zones chosen.
How should I compare it with another body device?
Put both in terms of price per zone per session, and check how many sessions each plan assumes.
What if I stop partway through a course?
Ask about the terms before paying. Some clinics allow a partial refund or credit, others do not.
