How it works

Sofwave, from Sofwave Medical, uses synchronous ultrasound parallel beam technology, abbreviated SUPERB. Instead of a single focal point, it sends several parallel ultrasound beams into the mid layer of the skin while a cooling element protects the surface. The energy sits at a more superficial depth than conventional focused ultrasound lifting, and it is applied as passes over a defined area. Any change in skin firmness develops gradually, and it differs by person.

• There is no live imaging step, so a quote has no imaging-time component to ask about.
• A single-use treatment head is typically part of the setup, and a clinic may or may not list it on its own line.
• Passes over an area, not individual shots, are the more common way to describe the work, so ask how many passes the plan assumes.
• Because the depth is shallower, some clinics suggest it for finer texture and mild laxity, which affects whether it is quoted alone or alongside a deeper treatment.

How Sofwave affects a treatment quote

Compared with shot-counted devices, Sofwave estimates tend to be framed by area. A lower-face section, a neck section and a brow section may each have a price, and the number of passes behind each is what you should ask about.

Since the plan is shallower, many people hear it proposed together with something that works deeper. If you receive a combined figure, request the two parts separately so you know what the Sofwave portion costs on its own terms. Also ask whether treatment heads are inside the total, how many visits the clinic expects, and whether VAT is included. The doctor's exam sets the pass plan, and the earlier message is only a starting point.
