Mesotherapy (Skin Meso)
Mesotherapy means injecting small amounts of a customized mixture into the skin. Because the contents vary between clinics, the quote can only be compared if the ingredients, volume and number of sessions are written down.
How it works
A mix of ingredients such as vitamins, amino acids or hyaluronic acid is injected in tiny amounts by hand or with a multi-needle device. The aim is to support skin hydration and texture. Evidence for specific mixtures is limited, and results vary by person, so sessions are repeated.
Who it may suit
- People with dull, dry or uneven-textured skin.
- Those who want a light, repeatable treatment.
- Anyone seeking a tailored mix after a skin assessment.
The treatment day
- Consultation. The doctor reviews skin concerns, allergies and the contents of the mix.
- Numbing. Numbing cream is applied.
- Injection. Small amounts are placed across the face.
- Series plan. Sessions are generally one to four weeks apart.
Aftercare
- Small bumps usually settle in one to two days.
- Do not rub the skin or apply thick makeup until the next morning.
- Avoid saunas and intense exercise that day.
- Use sunscreen.
Things to know first
- Bumps, redness and bruising are common.
- Allergic reaction to any ingredient is possible; infection is rare but serious.
- Treatment is postponed during pregnancy, breastfeeding or a skin infection.
- Mixed formulations are less standardized, so ask what is in them.
- Results vary by person.
What the price of mesotherapy depends on
The formula comes first. Cocktails differ in ingredients and amounts, and some are ready-made branded products while others are mixed in the clinic. Ask for the ingredient list and the volume used.
Area and session number come next: face only or with neck, and a series of several visits. Packages reduce the figure per visit but fix you to a plan.
Ask for numbing, consultation and VAT to be separate lines, and whether any ingredient is billed as an extra.
Mesotherapy is also sometimes bundled into a longer facial package. If so, ask for the injection portion to be priced separately, so the total reflects what you actually receive and you can judge each part.
