Juvelook (PDLLA)
Juvelook is a collagen-stimulating injectable made from poly-D,L-lactic acid. It is used in small amounts across the skin and is repeated in a short course, so cost is easier to understand as vials multiplied by sessions rather than as a single figure.
How it works
The powder is mixed with fluid and injected into the dermis or just below it, where it gently prompts the body to produce collagen over the following weeks. It is used for fine lines, skin texture, mild volume loss and, in some cases, scar-related texture. The change is gradual rather than immediate and varies by person.
Who it may suit
- People with fine lines, crepey skin or early signs of thinning.
- Those who want gradual, natural-looking improvement.
- People who prefer a course of treatment over a single visit.
The treatment day
- Skin assessment. The doctor evaluates skin quality, areas of concern and suitability.
- Mixing. The vial is prepared with sterile fluid; the dilution is confirmed.
- Injection. Small amounts are placed across the area with a fine needle or cannula after numbing.
- Follow-up schedule. A repeat is usually planned a few weeks later, and the number of sessions is reviewed.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing the area and follow any massage advice given.
- Skip strenuous exercise and heat for a day or two.
- Small bumps and bruises usually fade within days.
- Report lumps that persist, or growing pain, redness or warmth.
Things to know first
- Bumps, bruising and mild swelling are common.
- Small nodules can form and may take months to settle; over-treatment raises that chance.
- Vascular occlusion is rare but serious with any injectable.
- Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection, or with a history of keloids or certain autoimmune conditions.
- Results build gradually and vary by person.
What the price of Juvelook depends on
The key unit is the vial, and the key multiplier is the number of sessions. A plan may use part of a vial per area, and a full face may need more than one. Ask how many vials per session and how many sessions the doctor expects.
Dilution is a quiet variable. More dilute mixes cover a wider area, and the injection depth and technique differ between clinics. Ask how it is prepared, and whether the quote is for a stated area or the whole face.
As with other short courses, packages lower the per-session figure but fix the schedule. Check how unused sessions are handled, and look for consultation, numbing and VAT as separate lines. The final plan is set at the in-person exam.
Juvelook (PDLLA): common questions
Is the quote per vial or per session?
It can be either. Ask how many vials each session uses and how many sessions are planned.
Why does the number of sessions matter?
Results build over weeks, so a course is usual. The total is the per-session figure multiplied by the visits.
Does a bigger area cost more?
Generally yes, since more product is needed. The doctor will confirm after assessing the area.
Can I pay per session instead of a package?
Many clinics allow it, though the per-session figure may differ. Ask for both options.
