truSculpt
truSculpt is body-focused monopolar RF, and quotes are built from treated zones and session counts.
How it works
truSculpt, from Cutera, is a monopolar radiofrequency device for body contouring. The applicator heats the deeper tissue, including fat, to a controlled temperature while the surface is monitored. It is used on areas such as the abdomen, flanks, back or thighs. The warmth is intended to reduce the thickness of the fat layer gradually, and any change takes weeks to appear and varies by person. It is not a weight loss method.
Good to know
- The unit is the treated zone, and applicator size can differ depending on whether a large or small area is being worked on.
- A course is typically several visits, so a one-visit figure and a course figure should not be compared directly.
- Cutera's other devices, such as Titan, are skin-focused, so make sure the estimate is for the body device.
- Measurements and photos at the start are often part of the plan and may be itemized.
How truSculpt affects a treatment quote
A truSculpt plan is a list of zones. Ask which zones are included, how many visits each gets, and how long a visit lasts. Two clinics can quote an abdomen and flanks plan very differently simply by assuming a different number of visits.
After that, ask whether the figure is per zone or for the whole plan, and what the clinic does if you want to add a zone later. Ask about the measurements taken before and after, because they are your record of how the plan went. VAT, any consultation fee and compression garments should each have a yes or no. The doctor decides the zones and visits at the exam.
truSculpt: common questions
Is truSculpt priced per zone?
Commonly, yes. Ask for the zones in writing and the visits planned for each.
Can I add a zone later?
Some clinics allow it at a set rate. Ask how an added zone would be priced.
Are before-and-after measurements included?
Often. Confirm that and ask how they are recorded.
