How it works

Shurink Universe, a Classys product, is a focused ultrasound lifting device that delivers energy in single shots through a handpiece that takes cartridges built for different treatment depths. A practitioner can place shallower and deeper shots in the same session and cover the face and neck in sections. The heat produced is intended to encourage collagen remodeling over the next few months. Outcomes vary, and the device does not remove skin or fat.

Good to know

• Each cartridge is rated for a limited number of shots, so a larger plan can consume more than one.
• Depth is chosen by cartridge, and a quote that lists only a grand total does not show how many shots go to each depth.
• Because Classys also makes other lifting devices, check that the written name says Shurink Universe and not a similar product.
• Cheek, jawline and neck are often planned as separate sections, each with its own shot figure.

How Shurink Universe affects a treatment quote

With this device the question to ask is how many shots, at which depth, in which section. A clinic that answers with a table such as section by depth by count is giving you something you can check. A clinic that answers with one number is not wrong, but you will need to ask the follow-up.

Where a plan runs beyond what one cartridge holds, the extra cartridge is either folded in or added. Find out which, and ask whether the same shot count would be repeated at a later visit or whether the plan is one-off. Numbing, VAT and any consultation fee are separate lines. Keep the doctor's final count in writing, because the exam may change the number that was mentioned on a first message.
